Cheeky as hell and brimming with attitude, Nashville’s multinational rock outfit Wild Love is here for your entertainment, and they’re back with their new single “Closer”, channeling the energy of end-of-summer parties and 90s nostalgia for this modern pop rock classic. “Closer” takes feelings seriously, but the world around it? Not as much.

“With the whole world moving all around us all the time, it’s so easy to get distracted” says Wild Love’s lead singer Brandon Gorman, “but for me, this song is about that feeling of like, even when there’s so much happening around you, and you don’t know the words to say, but you know what you’re feeling and it’s not going to stop you from doing what you want to do.”

That energy of following the feeling in front of you without thinking too much comes through on the record, but the band first found that feeling playing it live. “I remember the first time we played it at a show: the second the band came in, the energy in the place just shifted,” says guitarist Michael Crecca. “It was at some college party we got asked to play, and the place just went nuts — everyone knew the words by the second chorus. And it’s been like that every time we’ve played it since.”
