WILD LOVE ARE BACK WITH THEIR INFECTIOUSLY FUN NEW SINGLE “TWENTY”
While on the UK leg of their self-titled “Somewhat Kind-of World Tour”, multinational indie/pop rock group Wild Love dropped their infectiously declarative sing-along single “Twenty”. Resurrected from the early days of the band and updated for the where the band finds themselves today, “Twenty” is as youthful, quick, raw and fun as it is infectiously satisfying.
“It’s really wild to have this older song brought back amongst so much new stuff” says guitarist Michael Crecca, as “Twenty” was one of the first songs the band worked on when Michael joined in 2018. “It didn’t have a space in previous records or single-cylces, but when we started working on songs like “Loser” and “Monday Morning Quarterback”, we dusted this one off, gave it a bit of a face lift, and it fit in perfectly, which was so cool because we’ve always loved this one.”
Written by Brandon Gorman, the song was brought up to speed with where the band is currently by producer Ryan Yount, who co-produced the track alongside the band’s guitarist Michael Crecca.
“I really couldn’t tell you what the song is truly about” says the lyricist and lead-singer Brandon Gorman. “It’s been around so long that the meaning has changed so many times, but I think that’s the fun of it.”
“Twenty” was released while the band was on a 3 week tour that took them through the US, Ireland and the UK for 15 dates, including a slot at Ireland’s Electric Picnic Festival (Arctic Monkeys, Tame Impala, etc.). But the international tour is not the first worldly experience for the band, as each member grew up in a very different part of the world. Lead-singer and band songwriter Brandon Gorman grew up in Ireland before moving to the US, where he met the other founding member and bass player, Saygīn (or as everyone calls him, Si) Geçener, who grew up in Turkey. After finishing high school in the US, they moved the band to Nashville, where they met the band’s token American, guitarist and producer Michael Crecca, who grew up in New York. Since the move, they’ve made a name for themselves in Nashville and taken their lively, attitude driven rock sound and channeled it into hook heavy pop songs for a new era of Wild Love.
meet Wild Love, your new favorite band…
Originally formed from a chance high school bus stop encounter in Virginia, the band hails from all over the world (Ireland, Turkey, New York) and quickly made a name for themselves after moving to Nashville, playing larger venues like Marathon Music Works, festivals like Live on the Green, and receiving support from Nashville’s largest independent radio station Lightning 100 across all their singles.
Since the move, through the singing and songwriting of frontman Brandon Gorman (Ireland), the production of guitarist Michael Crecca (New York) and groove of bassist Saygīn Geçener (Turkey), they’ve taken their lively, attitude driven rock sound and channeled it into hook heavy pop songs for a new era of Wild Love.
